TG web tumbling levels

The Top Gun tumbling program is one of the top programs in the world. We pride ourselves in the expertise of our coaches, having trained and attended numerous conferences & clinics throughout the year to ensure the latest tumbling techniques, tumbling drills and body mechanics are being applied in our curriculum. We offer the same instructional quality, year-round, to both our team athletes and our recreational athletes.  We have the regions largest in-ground pit system to train any level.


Our Classes

FUNdamental:

This tumbling class is designed for beginner athletes of all ages who are new to the sport of tumbling. We focus on teaching the basics and building confidence. Students will be taught proper techniques to progress quickly and safely while having FUN!. This class focuses on strength, flexibility, and coordination.

Skills the athletes must master in order to advance include forward and backward rolls, cartwheels, bridges, handstands, lunges, levers, candlesticks and a power hurdle.

TUMBLING LEVEL 1:

Level 1 Tumbling is designed for athletes who have a fundamental understanding of the sport and have mastered a few basic skills. Athletes will be taught proper techniques to progress quickly and safely. This class focuses on strength, flexibility, and coordination to progress to help progress our skills.

Skills the athletes must master in order to advance include handstand forward rolls, front and back walkovers, back walkover series, cartwheel back walkover, front walkover cartwheel back walkover and round offs.

TUMBLING LEVEL 2:

Level 2 is designed to begin learning handspring skills. This class requires previous training and mastery of all level 1 skills. Athletes will be taught proper techniques to progress quickly and safely. This class focuses on strength, flexibility, and coordination to progress to help progress our skills.

Skills the athletes must master in order to advance include:

  • 2 step hurdle
  • Back Extension Roll
  • Valdez
  • Front Handspring
  • Front Bounder
  • Back Handspring
  • Back Walkover Back Handspring
  • Back Handsprings Series
  • Back Handspring Step out Back Walkover Back Handspring

TUMBLING LEVEL 3:

Level 3 is designed to start working on tuck skills. This class’ emphasis will be placed on gaining speed and power for more difficult skills and strength training. This class requires previous training and mastery of all level 2 skills. Athletes will be taught proper techniques to progress quickly and safely.

Skills the athletes must master in order to advance include:

  • Side Aerial
  • Punch Front Tuck
  • Standing Back Tuck
  • Jump Back Tuck
  • Roundoff Back Handspring Back Tuck

TUMBLING LEVEL 4:

Level 4 is designed for our advanced tumbler. Athletes will master the correct technique needed for the most advanced acrobatics. This class requires previous training and mastery of all level 3 skills. Athletes will be taught proper techniques to progress quickly and safely.

TUMBLING LEVEL 5:

Level 5 is designed for our elite tumbler. Athletes will master the correct technique needed for the most advanced acrobatics. This class requires previous training and mastery of all level 4 skills. Athletes will be taught proper techniques to progress quickly and safely.
